Parking in a Cul-de-sac![]() When parking in a cul-de-sac, all vehicles must be parallel parked with right hand wheels to the curb unless signage is posted indicating angle parking is permitted. Improperly parked vehicles block driveways for residents and restrict access to the cul-de-sac for emergency and waste management vehicles. Section 4(1)(a) of the Calgary Parking Bylaw prohibits parking on a roadway with the right-hand wheels more than 500mm (50cm) from the curb or edge of the roadway. Please be aware that angle parking in a cul-de-sac is enforced on a complaint basis only. If we receive a complaint, we are obligated to investigate and enforce the Calgary Parking Bylaw or any other City of Calgary bylaw as applicable. How to apply for angle parking in your cul-de-sacTo determine if your cul-de-sac is suitable for angle parking, please contact City of Calgary 311 and request to have your street reviewed by the Roads business unit. If your cul-de-sac meets the criteria required, your request may be approved and angle parking signage may be installed. Application and installation fees may apply. |
