ParkPlus minimum top-ups lowered to $5 for more flexible parking

Big changes have been made to the ParkPlus system, and they’re all about giving you more control over how and when you add funds to your account.

We have lowered the minimum top-up, auto top-up, and low balance threshold amounts in the ParkPlus system from $25 to $5. That means you’ll be able to add funds in smaller amounts that align with your parking needs, whether you park downtown every day or only occasionally.

Here's what's new

  • The minimum amount for Add Funds is reduced from $25 to $5
  • The minimum Auto Top-Up amount is also lowered from $25 to $5
  • You can now choose any top-up amount between $5 and $5,000
  • You can set your Auto Top-Up to any amount between $5 and $1,000
  • The low balance threshold (the balance that triggers an auto top-up) is also dropping to $5

Why we made this change

This update reflects our commitment to making ParkPlus more responsive and user-friendly. We considered feedback from Calgarians and reviewed how people are using the system. It became clear that there was a need for more flexibility, especially for short visits and on-street parking where a few dollars can cover a parking session.

These improvements are part of our ongoing efforts to make everyday life a little easier and more convenient for Calgarians.
