Parking tips to avoid tickets and tows

  • Create space for a safe race: If your street is in a no-parking zone during the marathon race weekend, make sure your car is removed from restricted areas where the parking bans are active and in effect.

  • Watch for signs: Parking ban signs will be posted at least 12 hours before the races begin. Make sure you park outside of the parking ban areas.

  • Get safe, convenient and affordable parking: Consider parking in our nearby parking lots and parkades before road closures begin. Note that some facilities may be closed for the marathon from 6 a.m. to around 3 p.m., with no entries or exits.

  • Explore options for getting around: Try taking public transit, walking or cycling to the places, people and activities you care about during the race weekend. For Calgary Transit, look up bus route detours and changes to schedules.

Create space for a safe race during this year’s Calgary Marathon race weekend so everyone gets around and connects with the people, places and activities they care about.
