Street Sweeping - General Information
The CPA provides enforcement support to The City of Calgary during their Spring Clean-up program. Spring clean-up is an annual street sweeping program that removes sanding materials and debris that have accumulated on roads and along major sidewalks and boulevards during the winter months.
The 2017 spring clean-up street sweeping program begins on Monday, April 3rd and is expected to be complete the beginning of June. For in-depth information on this program, including sweeping schedules and background information please go to www.calgary.ca/sweep.
Citizens will see the following signage posted notifying them of upcoming street sweeping in their community.
The City will be putting up signage at the main entrances with a date range in which street sweeping will occur.
Parking Ban Signage
These smaller, 3 foot tall, signs mean a parking ban is in effect during the date and time on the sign. Citizens must remove their vehicle(s) from the roadway into an area that not under a parking ban to avoid being ticketed and/or short-towed. These parking ban signs are put out by City Roads at least 12 hours in advance of the parking ban.
Street sweeping begins on Monday April 3, 2017.
Ticket & Short Tow statistics will be updated on the following dates:
Wednesday, April 5
Fridays: April 7, 14*, 21, 28, May 5, 12, 19, 26
*We will update the stats on April 13th due to April 14th being Good Friday.
NOTE: Variance between the 'Tag' and 'Tow' statistics is typically due to inadequate parking ban signage present, which could be a result of them being moved or knocked over (higher tow numbers). Whereas higher tag numbers are typically a result of a vehicle owner moving their vehicle prior to a tow truck arriving.
*Weekly breakdown of 2016 statistics is unavailable.
