Active until June 30, 2023. ![]() Each spring and summer, the Calgary Parking Authority receives a number of complaints about how recreational vehicles (RVs) are being parked in residential neighbourhoods across the city. City streets and alleys aren't large enough to allow for long-term parking of large vehicles. Because of their size, parked RVs may block the view of intersections, road signs, pedestrians and other vehicles. Please be extremely careful when parking your RV. Consider storing your vehicle for long periods of time in either an RV storage park or, if you have the space, your backyard. Tips for parking your RV:

Section 17, Bylaw 26M96, the Calgary Traffic Bylaw(1) An owner or operator of a recreational vehicle for which the vehicle registration shows a City of Calgary address must not park the recreational vehicle on a street in the City, except in the area of the street immediately adjoining the owner or operator's place of residence. (2) An owner or operator of a recreational vehicle for which the vehicle registration shows a City of Calgary address must not park the recreational vehicle on the area of the street immediately adjoining the owner or operator's place of residence for a period of more than 36 consecutive hours. (3) An owner or operator of a recreational vehicle for which the vehicle registration shows a City of Calgary address must not park the recreational vehicle on the area of the street immediately adjoining the owner or operator's place of residence if the recreational vehicle was previously parked on that area of the street at any time during the preceding 48 hour period. (4) Notwithstanding anything else in this section, an owner or operator of a recreational vehicle must not park the recreational vehicle on any street in the City in such a manner as to constitute a hazard to other persons using the street.
