Impound Lot hours are changing

Effective April 11, 2010, operating hours to the public will change from 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to the following:

• 7 am - 11 pm - Weekdays
• 9 am - 4 pm - Weekends and Statutory Holidays
• Closed on Christmas Day

The Impound Lot will have a gatekeeper and security officer on site 24 hours a day, seven days a week so that impounded vehicles can be accepted 24 hours per day and to ensure vehicles are safe and secure.

Why the changes?

The hours were changed to make the most efficient use of resources; the new hours match the typical usage hours of 95% of Impound Lot customers and are comparable to the service hours offered by other Alberta municipalities. Increased impound fees will discourage owners who use the Impound Lot as a storage site for their vehicles.
