Network Maintenance Notice: November 1
The Calgary Parking Authority is performing necessary planned maintenance of our network from Sunday, November 1st at 9:00PM until 1:00AM on Monday, November 2nd. During this time, no ParkPlus online services will be available, including MyParking Services, the MyParking app, text-to-park, call-to-park, and parkplus.ca.
No payment is required for on-street parking on Sunday, November 1st. Pay machines will continue to be available to make payment in CPA operated parkades and surface lots.
Please note that our Customer Solutions Centre hours on November 1st are 8:00am-9:00pm (phone 403-537-7100, option 2 to speak to a representative).
The past few months have been challenging for Calgary and its local businesses, the Calgary Parking Authority (CPA) included. It’s more important than ever to support local.
The newest feature on CPA’s MyParking app will connect users with exclusive local deals from businesses they know and love! The feature, which appears for 3 days after you start a ParkPlus parking session, unlocks coupon codes that you can use at your favourite participating YYC business within a 5 km radius.
We are supporting contactless service options as much as possible to protect the health and safety of our customers and staff. With the MyParking app, there’s no need to worry about pay machines; simply download the app on your mobile devices for convenient and sanitary payment options AND to support local businesses.
We appreciate your business and your investment in Calgary; every dollar we collect above operational costs is given to City Council and reinvested in our community parks, libraries, roads and more.
What is the Local Deals feature?
The feature will connect users with exclusive local deals from businesses they know and love. Once you start a ParkPlus parking session on CPA’s MyParking app, you’ll have access to a coupon code at a YYC business that you can redeem for deals, discounts and more.
Why is CPA adding this feature to the app?
For a few reasons. First, over the past few months it’s become more important than ever to support our local business community. Secondly, we’re constantly innovating to improve and striving to deliver the best services to our customers. The Local Deals feature lets us do both; supporting other local businesses while delivering new functionality to our app users is a win-win!
How can I find my favourite business on the MyParking app?
There’s two ways to find the new feature; either start a parking session on the app and follow the pop-up message instructions or navigate to the top left corner menu and select Local Deals from the drop-down.
Do I have to buy anything or pay to access the deals?
Once you start a parking session on the My Parking app, you’ll have access to deals within 5 km of your location (make sure the GPS services are active on your phone for the most accurate results!) at no additional cost. Plus, the MyParking app is free to download.
How do I access a deal when I’m at my favourite local coffee shop/salon/store?
Once you start a ParkPlus parking session, navigate to the Local Deals page either through the pop-up confirmation notice after you start your session or use the menu at the top left corner of the app. When you visit the local vendor of your choice, share the coupon code on your mobile device to receive the corresponding deal!
When do the deals expire?
Expiry dates will be decided by the participating businesses, but each deal will be available on the MyParking app for a minimum of one week.
Can I save coupons for later?
Coupons and deal details will be visible for 3 (three) business days after an active parking session, so users can still take advantage of great local deals and support their favourite businesses at their convenience.
