If you see signs in your area and require further information regarding eligibility at your address call (403) 537-7000. The Calgary Parking Authority issues approximately 16,500 residential parking permits and 8,700 sets of visitor permits each year.

Application

How to Apply?
If your community requires parking permits you can apply to the Calgary Parking Authority in person, by fax or by mail. There is no application to fill out. Choose one of these easy methods to apply:
  • apply in person to 620-9th Ave SW
  • fax (403) 537-7001
  • mail to:
    Calgary Parking Authority
    620-9th Ave SW
    Calgary AB  T2P 1L5

Send your request along with a copy of your valid Alberta Vehicle Registration showing the correct address within the zone. A permit will not be issued without the registration.

What about visitors in a parking permit zone?
Each single family, semi-detached, triplex, four-plex and rowhouse unit can apply yearly for two visitor permits (Exception: Zone YY and AAA are permitted one vistor permit per residence). Only visitors to the address may use the permits. Residents can apply in person, by fax or mail. Proof of residence must be supplied. Permits are not replaced if lost or stolen before they expire. If you move the permit remains at the address.

For addresses that do not qualify for year-long visitor permits, temporary two-week visitor permits are available for out-of-town guests. Both proof of the address of the permanent resident and proof of the out-of-town address for the guest must be supplied.

Are you a student in a parking permit zone?
A full-time student currently attending an educational institution in Calgary who normally would not be a resident of Calgary can obtain a parking permit.  Students must produce their vehicle registration, student identification card and a rental/lease agreement showing their correct address in the parking permit zone to receive a permit.
